Domaine Lac-au-Saumon

Domaine Lac-au-Saumon (legally Domaine Lac au Saumon Inc.) is a private seniors' residence and intermediate resource (résidence privée pour aînés / ressource intermédiaire) located in Lac-au-Saumon, in the Matapédia valley of Quebec, Canada. It provides temporary or permanent housing for seniors and people with special needs, combining comfort, respect and security in a peaceful, secure setting. The residence is operated from a building constructed in 1941 to house the mother house of the Servantes de Notre-Dame-Reine-du-Clergé, a religious community; the project to convert the heritage building into a seniors' home was driven by a desire to ensure the building's long-term survival. The Domaine offers a range of accommodation types, from single rooms to 2½-room apartments, described as spacious and well-appointed at competitive prices, with the possibility of a subsidy for home assistance. Services include three meals a day, housekeeping, laundry, cable, Wi-Fi, quality care and personalized support. Security is provided 24/7 through cameras, secured doors and a call system using pull cords and bracelets. The site also includes common and leisure areas, an outdoor area with a gazebo, a chapel, and a large parking area. The residence holds several certifications and memberships: it is a member of the RQRA (Regroupement québécois des résidences pour aînés) and the ARIHQ (Association des résidences et ressources intermédiaires du Québec), holds a MAPAQ permit, and has MSSS certification from the Government of Quebec. Its stated mission is to offer seniors and people with special needs temporary or permanent accommodation that combines comfort, respect and security.
