Overview

Domaine Serene is a winery founded in 1989, when Grace and Ken Evenstad settled in the Willamette Valley and invested in a 42-acre hilltop estate in the Dundee Hills. The estate produced its first wine, the 1990 Reserve, and planted its first vineyard, the Mark Bradford Vineyard, in 1993. In 2001 the Evenstads completed a five-level, gravity-flow Pinot Noir winery, and later added a white winery dedicated to Chardonnay and sparkling wine. The brand's Oregon Collection draws on seven estate vineyards comprising over 350 planted acres, and it also offers a Burgundian French Collection from Premier Cru blocks along the Côte d'Or.

History

In 1989, Grace and Ken Evenstad settled in the Willamette Valley and invested in a 42-acre hilltop estate in the Dundee Hills. In 1990 they produced Domaine Serene's first wine, the 1990 Reserve, which earned 90 points from critic Robert Parker Jr. In 1993 they planted their first vineyard, the Mark Bradford Vineyard, named after their son Mark Bradford Evenstad. In 2001 the Evenstads completed a state-of-the-art, five-level, gravity-flow Pinot Noir winery, and a little over a decade later completed a new white winery dedicated to Chardonnay and sparkling wine, described as the first of its kind in Oregon. The wineries are located on the Winery Hill Estate in the Dundee Hills AVA. The brand later expanded its vision to include historic vineyards of Burgundy, and its Oregon Collection comprises seven estate vineyards with over 350 planted acres.
