Doremir Music Research AB

Doremir Music Research AB describes itself as a leading "Musical Intelligence Company" based in Stockholm, Sweden. Under the brand name ScoreCloud sits Doremir's software suite, aimed at becoming the ultimate platform for notation-based music creation. The company says its technology, based on 25 years of research in music cognition, lets users capture and digitize musical creativity, likened to "Google Translate" but for music. Its founders are Sven Ahlbäck and Sven Emtell, and the company is backed by Swedish and international private investors together with the VC fund Almi Invest. The ScoreCloud product line includes ScoreCloud Studio for full-score composition, arranging and publishing, and ScoreCloud Songwriter for turning recordings of voice and instruments into lead sheets with melody, lyrics and chords.

Doremir Music Research AB was founded by Sven Ahlbäck, described as a fiddle-playing professor at the Swedish Royal Academy of Music and an expert in music cognition, together with Sven Emtell, a bass-playing computer engineer. Their collaboration produced a music app called ScoreCloud Express, which the company says makes it possible for anyone with a mobile phone to score any melody instantly and share it. Emtell described the app as listening to a melody, instantly writing it out in musical notation, and making it possible to share the written music via social media or email. The company is based in Stockholm, Sweden, and is backed by Swedish and international private investors together with the VC fund Almi Invest.
