Overview

DRFG Investment Group (also known as David Rusňák Family Group) is a Czech investment group founded in 2011 by entrepreneur David Rusňák, who remains its founder and majority shareholder. The group is headquartered in the Czech Republic and invests primarily in commercial real estate, telecommunications infrastructure, energy and financial services, with activities extending beyond the Czech Republic into other Central and Southeast European markets. The group's investment philosophy is based on clear principles: it prefers sectors it understands well and in which it has extensive experience, and focuses on locations that are culturally and geographically close, allowing a deeper understanding of the local market and its potential. It seeks significant decision-making stakes in projects so that it can actively influence their development and achieve positive results. Its main investment areas are real estate, development, telecommunications, financial services and energy. Real estate forms the core of the group's business. DRFG manages real estate worth roughly CZK 29–31 billion, with about 303,000 m² of leasable area in the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Croatia. It invests in the construction, development and appreciation of residential complexes, retail parks, shopping centres and logistics halls. Tenants of DRFG-owned properties include Tesco, Penny and others. The group owns and manages properties in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Croatia. In telecommunications, DRFG operates through its subsidiary Suntel Group, which builds, maintains and upgrades mobile telecommunications networks for leading operators in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Germany and Switzerland, serving clients such as O2 Slovakia, Vodafone, T-Mobile, Ericsson, Alcatel, Huawei and CETIN. Suntel Group was built by Roman Řezníček, the second shareholder of DRFG Investment Group. The telecommunications division also includes FibreNet, an operator of optical telecommunications infrastructure in Slovakia, managing more than 650 kilometres of optical routes and metropolitan networks and providing wholesale connectivity to operators, data centres and public institutions. The group reports over 1,700 km of built optical networks and 760 experts building and servicing mobile and data networks. In financial services, around 800 experts and specialists manage investments, and the group has founded or owns five funds. In 2019 the online comparison site Chytrý Honza joined the group's portfolio; in October 2025 it rebranded as EFEKTA Brokerpool as part of a strategy to unify brands in financial services. The group founded the EFEKTA Real Estate Fund and EFEKTA Development Fund, entered the EFEKTA Corporate Bond Fund in 2024, expanded its portfolio with DRFG Investment Fund SICAV at the end of 2024, and founded DRFG Real Estate ELTIF SICAV in 2026. Some of the group's funds are managed in cooperation with licensed fund managers, and selected funds are managed by the Liechtenstein company CAIAC Fund Management AG. In energy, the group invests in renewable sources, combining generation, distribution and storage of energy with its own engineering, implementation capacities and long-term management of energy assets. In 2025 and 2026 it contracted a portfolio of ten battery storage facilities with a capacity of 49.2 MW and 105 MWh, developed its own photovoltaic power plants, expanded local distribution systems and strengthened implementation capacities. DRFG was among the first major Czech investment groups to finance its development through corporate bond issues. In 2020 the Czech National Bank fined one of the group's companies CZK 5 million for a public offering of bonds from 2015 without an approved prospectus. In subsequent years, group companies issued bond issues based on prospectuses approved by the Czech National Bank. For 2025 the group reported record profit: consolidated operating revenues reached CZK 3.

History

David Rusňák worked in logistics before founding the investment group. In 2003 he founded Compass DKD Czech, a company focused on international freight transport. After selling it in 2009, he began investing in other business activities. In 2011 he founded the DRFG investment group, which gradually grew from a domestic investment company into an international group operating in several European countries. The group was among the first major Czech investment groups to finance its development through corporate bond issues. In 2020 the Czech National Bank fined one of the group's companies CZK 5 million for a public offering of bonds from 2015 without an approved prospectus. In subsequent years, group companies issued bond issues based on prospectuses approved by the Czech National Bank. In 2019 DRFG sold its stake in the telecommunications company Libli to Nordic Telecom. Nordic Telecom had already owned half of the shares since the end of 2017 and became the sole owner after the transaction was completed. Also in 2019, the online comparison site Chytrý Honza joined the group's portfolio. In October 2025 Chytrý Honza rebranded and changed its name to EFEKTA Brokerpool. The change was part of DRFG's strategy to unify brands in financial services and was intended to better reflect the company's focus on providing brokerpool services to financial advisors. The group founded the EFEKTA Real Estate Fund and EFEKTA Development Fund. In 2024 it also entered the EFEKTA Corporate Bond Fund. Subsequently, at the end of 2024, it expanded its portfolio with DRFG Investment Fund SICAV. In 2026 it founded DRFG Real Estate ELTIF SICAV. In energy, the group invests in renewable sources, combining generation, distribution and storage of energy with its own engineering, implementation capacities and long-term management of energy assets. This allows it to implement projects both within its own portfolio and for external partners and to cover the entire project life cycle from design to operation. In 2025 and 2026 the company contracted a portfolio of ten battery storage facilities with a capacity of 49.2 MW and 105 MWh, developed its own photovoltaic power plants, expanded local distribution systems and strengthened implementation capacities. For 2025 the group reported record profit. Consolidated operating revenues reached CZK 3.75 billion, and the total result of operations rose by almost 50 percent year-on-year to CZK 340 million. According to the balance sheet report, the group also strengthened its equity, reduced its debt ratio and continued international expansion. Assets reached CZK 9.99 billion in 2025 and equity CZK 1.46 billion. Revenues were CZK 3.75 billion and EBITDA CZK 1.24 billion. Consolidated and audited results for 2024 were assets of CZK 9.6 billion, equity of CZK 1.3 billion, revenues of CZK 3.6 billion and EBITDA of CZK 1.2 billion.
