Dubarry

Dubarry of Ireland, legally known as Dubarry Shoes, is a premium footwear and clothing company that manufactures and supplies waterproof leather boots for sailing and outdoor pursuits as well as shoes and clothing designed for day-to-day wear. It was set up in Ballinasloe, County Galway, Ireland in 1937 as a joint venture between the local Chamber of Commerce and the Cullen family, who brought footwear production experience from Northampton, England. The brand was named after Madame Du Barry to differentiate it from other Irish competitors. Its headquarters are at Glentaun, Ballinasloe, County Galway, Ireland. The company trades under the names Dubarry, Dubarry of Ireland and Dubarry Shoes, and its product range spans boots, shirts, knitwear, wax jackets and waterproof jackets.

Dubarry was set up in Ballinasloe, County Galway, Ireland in 1937. It was initially set up as a joint venture between the local Chamber of Commerce and the Cullen family, who brought experience in footwear production from Northampton in England. To differentiate the brand from other Irish competitors, the company was named after the French courtesan and mistress of Louis XV, Madame Du Barry, as "Dubarry". Dubarry opened its first UK store in November 2013 on Kings Road, Chelsea, and later established a store at the centre of the Cotswolds in Cheltenham in June 2016. Dubarry's distribution point in the UK is located in Chipping Norton.
