Overview

Dynafit is a mountain sports brand that began in 1950 when the Austrian Humanic company started producing ski boots later known under the DYNAFIT name, and it incorporated as its own brand 19 years later. It became part of the Oberalp Group in 2003 and introduced its first trail running collection in 2012, evolving into an all-season outfitter. The brand's official store in Kiefersfelden, Germany, offers products and services focused on mountain endurance sports.

History

Dynafit's history began in 1950 when the Austrian Humanic company started producing ski boots that later became known under the DYNAFIT name, helping legendary ski racers such as Franz Klammer and Leonhard Stock achieve many victories. Nineteen years later, DYNAFIT incorporated as its own brand. In 1984, Fritz Barthel invented the first pin binding by building metal pins onto the toe piece of a binding and creating a boot with coordinating notches. In 1990, DYNAFIT launched the 'Tourlite Tech,' the first boot-binding combination based on Barthel's invention, which revolutionized ski touring thanks to its unsurpassed lightness and efficiency. In 2003, DYNAFIT became part of the Oberalp Group, joining the Salewa group that has been part of the South Tyrol Oberalp Group since 1990, allowing DYNAFIT to fully focus on the development of innovative ski touring products. In 2005, the brand relaunched, introducing the snow leopard as the new company logo, signifying lightness, efficiency and speed, and establishing itself as a full-line brand in the ski touring segment with a focus on entire systems. In 2012, DYNAFIT introduced a trail running collection for the first time, becoming an all-season outfitter for products head to toe.
