Reported for inflating revenue, suspended for 6 years, shares plummet on resumption
In 2013, after an anonymous report alleged fictitious sales of more than RMB 500 million and inflated revenue and inventory, Dynasty Fine Wines was suspended; the suspension lasted more than six years. The company denied fabricating sales and only admitted that it did not recognize revenue upon delivery and had inadequate internal controls. On the first day of trading resumption in July 2019, its share price plunged 52%. In 2025, Hong Kong's Accounting and Financial Reporting Council found that PwC had not sufficiently verified delivery in its 2010 and 2011 audits of Dynasty Fine Wines and had wrongly issued unqualified opinions. PwC and two partners were fined a total of HK$1.6 million.
