ECORBIT (에코비트) is a South Korean comprehensive environmental company that operates across the entire environmental services value chain. Formed in 2021 through the merger of TSK Corporation and Eco Solution Group, ECORBIT traces its origins to 2004 and has grown through a series of strategic acquisitions to become the country's largest integrated environmental firm. The company's business spans waste landfill, waste incineration (industrial and medical), solid refuse fuel (SRF) and steam production, waste collection and transportation, water treatment operations and maintenance, private investment projects, EPC contracting, urban mining (battery recycling), and soil remediation. ECORBIT is a subsidiary of TY Holdings, the holding company of Taeyoung Group, and was acquired by a consortium led by IMM Private Equity and IMM Investment. The company operates 23 subsidiaries, holds 202 patent properties, and manages 963 environmental infrastructure facilities nationwide with approximately 2,600 environmental experts. History
ECORBIT's history begins in 2004, when the company that would eventually become ECORBIT was established. The early years focused on water treatment and environmental infrastructure. In 2008, the company registered for water and sewage treatment facility construction, followed by electrical construction registration in 2008 and industrial environmental facility construction registration in 2009. It obtained ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certifications in 2009 and was recognized as a renewable energy specialized company by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy. In 2011, the company changed its corporate name to TSK Water, marking its growth as an environmental specialist. In 2012, it entered the landfill business by acquiring TSK Green Biro (now Ecorbit Green Pohang Branch) and established a corporate research institute. In 2013, it acquired TSK Green Energy (now Ecorbit Energy Jeonju) for SRF manufacturing and steam supply, and became a comprehensive environmental company by winning the first public sewage treatment management agency contract from the Ministry of Environment. In 2014, it expanded landfill operations by acquiring Eco System (now Ecorbit Green Changwon Branch) and registered a patent for surplus sludge reduction. In 2016, the company expanded industrial waste incineration by acquiring ESG Cheongwon, ESG Sejong, and ESG Cheongju (now Ecorbit Green Cheongju). In 2017, it expanded medical waste incineration and collection by acquiring ESG Gyeongju (now Ecorbit Energy Gyeongju) and ESG Logis (now Ecorbit Logis). In 2018, it underwent corporate division for business structure efficiency, spinning off TSK Water (now Ecorbit Water) for public O&M and EPC, and TSK M&S (now Ecorbit M&S) for chemicals and materials sales. In 2019, TSK Corporation was launched, and it acquired Huvis Water (now Ecorbit Engineering) for industrial water treatment, and signed a strategic partnership MOU with BIWASE, Vietnam's largest environmental company. In 2020, Ecorbit Green Cheongju landfill facility began operation, and DS Pretec (now Ecorbit Pretec) was acquired for urban mining. In 2021, TSK Corporation and Eco Solution Group signed a merger agreement, and the merged entity Ecorbit was officially launched in October 2021. The company also acquired Myeongseong Environment (now Ecorbit Energy Myeongseong) and Jeongse Environmental Technology (now Ecorbit Energy Jeongse) for industrial waste incineration. In 2022, Ecorbit acquired Yeongcheon Eco for landfill and Dongmyung Tech for industrial waste incineration, and established Ecorbit Logis. In 2023, it acquired Boksan Trading for waste collection and transportation. In 2024, it published its first sustainability report and accelerated ESG management. In 2025, a controversy arose when IMM Private Equity and IMM Investment, which had acquired Ecorbit from Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and TY Holdings, decided to file damages claims against the two companies after leachate (contaminants) was detected at an Ecorbit subsidiary, causing losses.
