History
Egis Pharma Services describes Egis as a Hungarian pharmaceutical large enterprise with a considerable past, which over more than 110 years developed from a small stone-quarry nutrient factory into one of the leading generic companies of Central and Eastern Europe. Its products are manufactured at three sites in Hungary: at its headquarters on Keresztúri út in Budapest are its active ingredient manufacturing plants; on Bökényföldi út, also in Budapest, are its injection, tablet and packaging plants, as well as one of its finished goods warehouses; and its Körmend plant unit produces tablets and pellets in its tablet plant and manufactures ointments, suppositories, solutions and syrups in its galenic plant. The active ingredients and finished products manufactured by Egis reach 100 countries. The roots of active ingredient development and manufacturing at Egis go back to the 1920s.
