EHEIM

EHEIM is a German aquatics brand founded in 1949 by the engineer Gunther Eheim, initially focused on technical toys. In the 1960s EHEIM invented the world's first aquarium suction filter. As early as 2004 EHEIM, mp and JÄGER were amalgamated into EHEIM Aquatics Group, and since 2012 all products and services are managed under only the brand EHEIM. The brand develops aquarium technology designed as a technically coordinated complete solution, with filter technology, heating systems and control components interacting precisely, and EHEIM Digital products networked via an app.

EHEIM was founded in 1949 by the engineer Gunther Eheim, initially focusing on toys and bus models. In 1956 the company moved from Esslingen/Neckar to Deizisau, Plochinger Str. 32. In 1962 EHEIM developed a centrifugal pump with magnetic coupling, initially intended for the realistic operation of a model fountain; combining this pump with a cleaning container led to the development of the EHEIM suction filter for the aquarium. In 1963 the first EHEIM filter system went into series production. By 1971, 100,000 EHEIM aquarium filters were already in use worldwide. In 1970 the 'technical toys' production branch was discontinued, and in 1974 the garden pond product line was introduced. As early as 2004 EHEIM, mp and JÄGER, the three big European brands in aquatics, were amalgamated into EHEIM Aquatics Group, and since 2012 all products and services are managed under only the brand EHEIM.
