Overview
Einrichtungspartnerring VME GmbH & Co. KG is a furniture trade association and purchasing cooperative headquartered in Bielefeld, in the Ostwestfalen region of Germany. Founded in 1964, it operates in the small and medium-sized furniture retail sector in Germany and Europe. The group counts around 200 member companies operating roughly 400 furniture stores in total. Its external sales volume is approximately EUR 3.5 billion, and in Germany the group reaches a market share of about 10 percent in furniture. It is a member of the Mittelstandsverbund – ZGV e. V. The core of the business is collective purchasing: the group negotiates top prices and conditions for its members, organizes large-scale purchases so that members can compete with global players, and operates purchasing commissions in which employees and shareholders work hand in hand. Its centrally regulated purchasing volume was EUR 1.35 billion in 2024 and, according to the group itself, EUR 1.37 billion in 2025 (including VAT). Profits generated by Einrichtungspartnerring VME are distributed 100 percent to the shareholders, and members additionally benefit from rebates and bonus payments. The assortment covers more than 5,000 basic models and addresses furniture stores, kitchen specialty stores, upholstered furniture specialty stores, cash-and-carry and discount stores. Main product groups include upholstered furniture and kitchens; the kitchen/bath segment accounts for 30 percent, upholstered furniture 25 percent, bedrooms 15 percent, dining rooms 10 percent, and living room furniture 4 percent, with specialty assortments contributing 8 percent of sales. Beyond purchasing, the group offers marketing, data management, specialist purchasing, central regulation, and digital services and technologies. It presents current assortments and trends up to four times a year in its own 12,000-square-meter exhibition center in Bielefeld. Its retail brand Interliving is the first national goods and entrepreneur brand of the group, developed with industry partners and supported by large, high-reach campaigns. Interliving covers the full breadth of the furnishing world, including kitchen, living, upholstery, sleeping, dining, bath, lighting, carpets, and home textiles, and nearly all of the roughly 400 furniture and kitchen stores affiliated with Einrichtungspartnerring VME carry Interliving products. Around 50 stores also use Interliving as an entrepreneur brand in their company names. The group has built a network brand concept since 1964, with a dedicated brand campaign launched by shareholder resolution in April 2008 and a repositioning of the Einrichtungspartnerring brand in 2011. Its marketing has used prominent testimonials for Interliving, including Bruce Darnell in 2016, Gerard Butler in 2018, Samu Haber from 2019, and Henning Baum since 2024. Interliving has received the German Brand Award three times, in 2018, 2020, and 2024.
History
Einrichtungspartnerring VME was founded in 1964 as a purchasing cooperative for furniture retailers. From its base in Bielefeld, in the Ostwestfalen region of Germany, it grew into a network group serving medium-sized and owner-managed furniture specialty stores in Germany and Europe. Over the decades it developed into one of the most important furniture association groups in the German market, with around 200 member companies operating roughly 400 furniture stores and an external sales volume of approximately EUR 3.5 billion, reaching a German furniture market share of about 10 percent. A key strategic step was the creation of a network brand. By resolution of the shareholders' meeting in April 2008, the group launched its own brand campaign within the cooperative. The network brand "Einrichtungspartnerring" was developed to support the local dealer brands. In 2011 the Einrichtungspartnerring brand was repositioned, the joint market presence was fundamentally revised, and a diverse spectrum of marketing measures was developed, from outdoor advertising and in-house communication to social media, designed to strengthen shareholders locally. The claim "Wir haben's" can be positioned as a connecting element on the shareholder's logo. The next major development was the goods and entrepreneur brand concept. Interliving became the first national goods and entrepreneur brand of Einrichtungspartnerring VME. In April 2016 the furniture group presented the concept, and in the same year the word-and-device mark was introduced. The logo consists of the Interliving signet and the claim "Möbel für mich gemacht" or "Küche für mich gemacht". The first Interliving products were presented to the specialist trade in November 2016, and delivery of goods began in the first quarter of 2017. Interliving products are characterized by timeless design, high functionality, variety, a fair price-performance ratio, and tested quality. Almost all Interliving furniture has been awarded the "Goldenes M" by the Deutsche Gütegemeinschaft Möbel, and the entire range carries a 5-year manufacturer's guarantee. Interliving covers the entire breadth of the furnishing world and is represented in the product groups kitchen, living, upholstery, sleeping, dining, bath, lighting, carpets, and home textiles. Nearly all of the roughly 400 furniture and kitchen stores affiliated with Einrichtungspartnerring VME carry Interliving products. Around 50 stores nationwide also implement Interliving as an entrepreneur brand, adding the name to their company names as Interliving Partners. In 2018 the Interliving Partners developed the Interliving Partner Magazin, published twice a year. Marketing for Interliving has relied on prominent testimonials. In 2016 the group won Bruce Darnell, known from various TV casting shows, as its first advertising partner. In 2018 British actor Gerard Butler followed as testimonial. From 2019 Samu Haber, frontman of the Finnish rock band Sunrise Avenue, appeared as brand ambassador. Since 2024 actor Henning Baum represents the Interliving brand. Each testimonial was used in one or more national, cross-media campaigns centered on produced TV spots, flanked by online advertising material, social media posts, POS material, and print ads for a 360-degree presence. Consistent brand management and broad marketing packages brought Interliving the German Brand Award three times: in 2018 in the "Special Mention" category, in 2020 in the category "Excellence in Brand Strategy and Creation – Brand Communication – Movies, Commercials & Virals", and in 2024 in the category "Excellent Brands - Interior & Living". In spring 2024 the brand underwent a soft relaunch, re-accentuating central elements of brand communication, with a stronger focus on emotional brand experience and customer individuality; the new campaign claim "Möbel für dich gemacht." replaced the previous claim. In purchasing, the group has over 60 years of experience and know-how. Its centrally regulated purchasing volume was EUR 1.35 billion in 2024 and, according to its own statement, EUR 1.37 billion in 2025 (including VAT), making it one of the leading furniture association groups in Germany and Europe. It organizes large-scale purchases for members, operates purchasing commissions, and presents current assortments several times a year in its own 12,000-square-meter exhibition center in Bielefeld, where up to four trade fairs for shareholders are held annually.
