Overview
Elastomix Co., Ltd. (株式会社エラストミックス) is a Japanese specialty chemicals company focused on the development and manufacture of rubber masterbatch and compounded rubber materials. Founded in 1964 in Otaru, Hokkaido, as Hokkaido Rubber Processing Co., Ltd., the company began operations in February 1965 and later changed its name to Nikko Rubber Processing Co., Ltd. before adopting the Elastomix name in 1992. Its headquarters are now located in Yokkaichi, Mie Prefecture, and it operates as a subsidiary of ENEOS Materials Corporation within the ENEOS Group. The company's core competence lies in refining (mastication) and compounding technology. It supplies rubber masterbatch used in automotive parts, electrical appliances and industrial materials, and has expanded its product range to include high-strength EPDM compounds, heat-resistant EPDM compounds, wide-temperature-range durable compounds, high-durability anti-vibration rubber compounds and environmentally friendly compounds. Under its registered Emxeed® brand, Elastomix offers high-value-added carbon masterbatches designed around the concepts of environmental responsibility and high functionality, including environmentally friendly NBR, heat-resistant NBR, NBR composite materials and partially crosslinked IIR. Beyond Japan, Elastomix has established a network of overseas bases. It founded Elastomix (Thailand) Co., Ltd. in 2000, PT. Elastomix Indonesia in 2013 and Elastomix Mexico, S.A. de C.V. in 2017, and it holds equity stakes in Chinese rubber companies such as Tianjin Guocheng Rubber Industrial Co., Ltd. and Fuzhou Guotai Rubber Co., Ltd. The company also established Nippon Micronix Rubber (Foshan) Co., Ltd. in Guangdong, China, in 2005. This international footprint allows it to serve regional customers with locally tailored materials. Elastomix emphasizes integrated strength across business, products and quality, and pursues sustainability through environmental consideration, occupational safety and legal compliance. In April 2022 it became a subsidiary of ENEOS Materials Corporation, aligning it with one of Japan's largest materials and energy groups. The company continues to invest in new elastomer alloy and compound development, combining polymer technology, compatibilization (alloying) technology and compounding/mixing technology to create materials for future needs.
