Overview
Embelco is a fine art logistics company based in Belgium, specializing since 1947 in the transport, packaging, storage, and installation of artworks for galleries, museums, auction houses, and private collectors in Europe and internationally.
History
EMBELCO (contraction of emballage, Belgique and interCOntinental) was created in 1947 with the vocation to provide industrial packaging and facilitate its transport notably towards Africa and other destinations. In 1980, the company was acquired by Philippe-Albert De Bergeyck and specialized in the transport of antiques. In 2000, Philippe-Albert De Bergeyck transmitted the company to his son and nephew, Edwin and Didier. In 2016, the approach of Edwin and Didier led EMBELCO to specialize in contemporary art and expand collaboration to collectors, art galleries, and designers. Since 2020, Nils joined the team to take over the company with his two friends, François-Xavier and Tadeusz.
