It was founded in 2015 by Raquel Matos Gonçalves, a Portuguese jurist and manager living in Switzerland.

Emigrante Legal was founded in 2015 by Raquel Matos Gonçalves, who initially created a Facebook group to help the Portuguese community in Switzerland. The group grew, and during the pandemic, she decided to transform her experience into a method of listening, organizing, and explaining, based on official sources but in an accessible way. The brand Emigrante Legal® was born from this human gesture and the desire to make emigrants' lives lighter.
