Overview
En Línea Maule Televisión is a Chilean over-the-air television station based in Talca, in the Maule Region, broadcasting information-focused programming for local audiences. Its studios are located at Avenida Isidoro del Solar 237 in Talca, next to those of the radio stations "Mágica" and "Amiga". The station belongs to a local media group that also includes radio brands such as Radio Amiga and Radio Mágica, as well as the portal enlineamaule.cl, whose sections cover news, culture, sports, economy, innovation, national, regional and video content, and which offers a live television feed. The station began in November 2000 as Talca's channel 6, initially relaying programming from TVR in Curicó. In 2006 it established an affiliation with Telecanal in Santiago. At first its only locally produced content was the news program "En Línea Maule", a local version of the Santiago newscast, after which more programming was gradually added. In February 2010, following the closure of the news department of Canal 2 in Santiago, the station changed its image and was at that time the only channel, apart from the Santa Cruz signal, to retain related content; in addition, Telecanal Talca acquired third-party programming, mainly Mexican telenovelas from Televisa, which were not broadcast by the parent station in Santiago. In March 2024, Telecanal Talca ended its affiliation with Telecanal and began broadcasting "En Línea Maule" around the clock, adopting that name as its new channel name. Telecanal in Santiago continued to broadcast on virtual subchannel 6.2 until August 2025, when it was replaced by a mirrored signal of En Línea Maule from virtual channel 6.1. The brand now positions itself as an around-the-clock local news channel for the Maule Region, distributing content via its over-the-air signal and through its website and social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, X and YouTube.
History
En Línea Maule traces its origins to November 2000, when channel 6 began transmissions in Talca as a repeater of TVR Curicó. The Talca signal carried TVR's programming until 2006, when the station affiliated with Telecanal of Santiago. In its early years the signal's only local output was its newscast, En Línea Maule, a local version of the Santiago newscast; over time it incorporated more programs. In February 2010, En Línea Maule changed its image following the closure of the news department of Canal 2 in Santiago, and it was the only such signal, together with the Santa Cruz signal, to do so. In addition, Telecanal Talca acquired programming produced by third parties that was not available on the parent Santiago station, mostly Mexican telenovelas from Televisa. In March 2024, Telecanal Talca ended its affiliation with Telecanal and began broadcasting En Línea Maule full time. The station adopted this name as its new denomination. Telecanal of Santiago remained available on virtual subchannel 6.2. This situation lasted until August 2025, when the latter was replaced by a mirror signal of En Línea Maule from virtual channel 6.1. The station's studios are located on Avenida Isidoro del Solar 237 in Talca, Región del Maule, next to the studios of the radio stations Mágica and Amiga. The brand now presents itself as a full-time local news channel for the Maule Region, with an online presence at enlineamaule.cl and on Facebook, Instagram, X and YouTube.
