Overview
Energiequelle is a German renewable energy company that has been active in the renewable energy market since 1997. It develops, builds and operates wind energy and photovoltaic plants, substations and energy storage, and also works on innovative energy supply solutions, repowering and green electricity sales through its subsidiary eqSTROM. The company is represented in Europe and South Africa with over 450 employees and around 20 locations, and its headquarters is in Kallinchen near Berlin.
History
Energiequelle was founded in 1997 by Doreen and Michael Raschemann and Joachim Uecker. The start-up began with four of its own wind energy plants and an annual sales target of 200,000 DM, initially without employees or offices, working from the kitchens of the Raschemann and Uecker homes in Bremen and Kallinchen near Berlin. In 2010 Energiequelle took over the French company P&T as a 100% subsidiary, which develops and manages wind farms in France and today operates under the Energiequelle name as Energiequelle SAS. In 2011 Energiequelle realized the Feldheim project in Brandenburg, making the village the first and so far only energy-autonomous place in Germany, with electricity and heat supplied exclusively from renewable energies. In 2015 the Regional Regelkraftwerk (RRKW) was commissioned in connection with Feldheim.
