Erdgas Südsachsen

Erdgas Südsachsen GmbH was the regional natural gas utility for southern Saxony, Germany, headquartered in Chemnitz. It supplied approximately 150,000 private, commercial, and industrial customers as well as eight municipal utilities with natural gas, operating through eight branch offices. Its core business was gas distribution, with additional activities in natural gas as a vehicle fuel, heating, and electricity. The company was owned by Zweckverband Gasversorgung in Südsachsen (51%) and Thüga AG München (49%), and it held a 100% stake in Südsachsen Netz GmbH. In summer 2010, Erdgas Südsachsen merged with Stadtwerke Chemnitz to form Eins Energie in Sachsen GmbH & Co. KG. The Erdgas Südsachsen brand is no longer active; the successor brand, eins, continues to market natural gas products in the region, including tariffs such as einsErdgas Fix24 and Fix12 with price guarantees of up to 24 months and bonuses of up to €50 for new customers.
