History

In 2013, ERF Medien Österreich was formed as an independent Christian media company in Austria under the name ERF Medien Österreich GmbH. The organization expanded its media offerings with a new online presence and took over the Austria-wide distribution of Bundes-Verlag magazines, while the magazine "mehr" was discontinued at the end of the year for cost reasons. In 2014, ERF Plus Österreich launched as a web radio at Easter, and NOW Radio launched as a web radio at Pentecost. In July and August 2014, the organization moved to a new location at Schelleingasse 16 in 1040 Vienna, and by the end of the year both radio stations were available via the A1 cable network. In 2015, DAB+ test operation began in the Vienna area, with both ERF Österreich stations participating from the start. In 2018, regular DAB+ operation started in the Vienna area with both ERF stations. In 2019, DAB+ broadcasting began in Graz, Linz, and Bregenz on May 28, followed by Innsbruck, Salzburg, and St. Pölten on December 11, making ERF Plus available everywhere in these regions.
