Overview

EUROATOMIZADO (Grupo Euroatomizado) is a Spanish industrial group dedicated to the design, development, manufacture and commercialisation of ceramic compositions — the spray-dried, atomized ceramic powders that serve as the base material for ceramic tile production. According to its own corporate description, the group presents itself as the largest national and international group in this specific activity, supplying ceramic compositions to tile manufacturers in Spain and abroad. The company was founded in 1998 as EUROATOMIZADO, and in 1999 the related entity NPC was founded. Over the following years the group invested heavily in energy infrastructure, installing cogeneration turbines at its plants: a 5 MW turbine at EUROATOMIZADO in 2000, further cogeneration capacity in 2005 (including a 7 MW turbine at NPC), and by 2008 a total of 24 MW installed across Grupo Euroatomizado. In 2005 NPC acquired 100% of the capital of Euroatomizado, and in 2006 Grupo Euroatomizado was formally born as the umbrella structure. The group's competitive positioning rests on a strong presence in the Spanish ceramic sector and among its leading companies, a highly qualified technical team with extensive ceramic-process experience, the ability to manufacture any type of product, availability of the full range of products offered on the market, very high installed production capacity, total adaptation to customer needs, and strong R&D capability for new product development. Its product families include sustainable products, white porous compositions, standard porcelain compositions and coloured compositions. Beyond manufacturing, EUROATOMIZADO has publicly emphasised environmental and circular-economy commitments. Its news highlights include participation in the European METALLICO project under Horizon Europe on recovering materials, projects to reduce its carbon footprint, a circular-economy business strategy, installation of electric vehicle charging points at its two plants, and study of the valorisation of residues from water potabilisation and from the DANA weather event. It has also been associated with the Spanish ceramic industry campaign 'Respeto: el ingrediente secreto' promoted by ASCER. The group operates from Spain and serves the ceramic tile cluster, with a workforce organised in three-shift patterns at its plants. It remains a private, active industrial group.

History

EUROATOMIZADO was founded in 1998 as a Spanish company dedicated to the manufacture of atomized ceramic compositions — spray-dried powders used as the base material by ceramic tile producers. The following year, 1999, the related company NPC was founded, and the two entities developed in parallel within the Spanish ceramic cluster. From 2000 onward the group invested in cogeneration capacity to secure energy efficiency at its plants. In 2000 a 5 MW cogeneration turbine was installed at EUROATOMIZADO. In 2005 the company certified its environmental management system under ISO 14001, and further cogeneration capacity was added: another 5 MW turbine at EUROATOMIZADO and a 7 MW turbine at NPC. Also in 2005, NPC acquired 100% of the capital of Euroatomizado, consolidating ownership under one structure. In 2006 Grupo Euroatomizado was formally born as the umbrella group. In 2008 a further 7 MW cogeneration turbine was installed, bringing the total installed capacity across Grupo Euroatomizado to 24 MW. This energy infrastructure underpinned the group's high production capacity and its ability to serve the demanding ceramic tile industry. Over the years the group has positioned itself as the largest national and international group in the design, development, manufacture and commercialisation of ceramic compositions. Its stated competitive advantages include a strong position in the Spanish ceramic sector and among its leading companies, a highly qualified technical team with extensive ceramic-process experience, the capacity to manufacture any type of product, availability of 100% of the product range offered on the market, very high installed production capacity, total adaptation to customer needs, and high R&D capability for new product development. In recent years EUROATOMIZADO has emphasised sustainability and the circular economy. It has participated in the European METALLICO project under Horizon Europe, focused on the industry's challenges with recovered materials; carried out projects to reduce its carbon footprint; adopted the circular economy as a strategic business model; installed electric vehicle charging points at its two plants; and studied the valorisation of residues from water potabilisation and from the DANA weather event. It has also been linked to the Spanish ceramic industry campaign 'Respeto: el ingrediente secreto' promoted by ASCER with support from the Generalitat Valenciana.
