Eurofun Group

Eurofun Group is a tour operator with over three decades of experience in active holidays, focusing on cycling, cycling & ship, hiking, and family tours. It operates through various travel brands and subsidiaries across Europe.

The first ideas for developing own cycling tour offers were formed by the two company founders Walter Schmid and Herbert Würtinger in 1991. The actual 'starting signal' for the company came a year later, the first catalog was printed and with the 'Ten Lakes Tour' a first own cycling tour was developed. In around 25 years, the 'cycling tourism' area was continuously expanded under the brand name 'Eurobike', first participations (Bodensee Radweg Service GmbH) and takeovers (Rückenwind Reisen GmbH) followed. Since 2004, hiking tours have been offered under the label 'Eurohike', since 2006 sports & active tours and family tours under the brand 'Euroaktiv'. In 2007, the company expanded into Switzerland with the complete takeover of Eurotrek AG, Zurich. In 2009, a participation in SE-Tours GmbH, Bremerhaven followed – now fully owned by the Eurofun Group. In 2012, Radreisefreunde GmbH, Vienna, was founded as a specialist for customized tours also outside the standard offer. In the same year, the majority shares of Espace Randonnée SARL in Haguenau, France, were taken over. In 2013, participation in Bike Guide Sweden AB, Stockholm followed. With the takeover of the majority shares in Radweg-Reisen GmbH, Konstanz, the position as 'number 1' of cycling and active travel organizers in Europe was achieved. In 2016, the majority shares in Bike Guide Sweden AB were taken over. A year later, the majority takeover of Pedalo Touristik GmbH followed. In 2020, Active on holiday BV was newly founded in the Netherlands and the majority shares of Bering Travel, Denmark were taken over. Bike Sweden AB was renamed Active Scandinavia AB.
