Overview

The European Organization for Quality (EOQ), originally called the European Organization for Quality Control (EOQC), was established in 1956 by founding organizations from France, Italy, Western Germany, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Its mission is 'To improve European society by promoting Quality in its broadest sense'. EOQ offers certifications and recognitions, including its flagship EOQ Competence Certificate, the EQTM label, the EKR Diploma and the EQR Statement, and provides normative documents such as competence specifications and certification schemes.

History

The European Organization for Quality (EOQ), at that time called the European Organization for Quality Control (EOQC), was established in 1956. The founding organizations came from five western European countries: France, Italy, Western Germany, The Netherlands and United Kingdom. As a first major step in broadening the delivery of a quality agenda, the EOQ spread its roots into other western European countries, before establishing links with Central and Eastern Europe. Later EOQ widened its activities to include the countries of the southern and eastern Mediterranean region. In January 2017, EOQ received recognition from the European Accreditation (EA) for its Quality Management Personnel programme, enabling it to guarantee a European standard of certification.
