Overview

EVduty is the commercial identity of electric vehicle charging products manufactured by Elmec. The EVduty adventure at Elmec began in 2012, and the first product developed was a Level 2 (240 V) charging station. Commercialization of the first generation of EVduty stations began in early 2014. The brand offers residential and commercial charging stations, including the EVduty DUO double charging pedestal and the EVduty3 fast charging station.

History

The EVduty adventure at Elmec began in 2012, when there were barely 2 or 3 models of rechargeable vehicles on the market. The company's forward-looking management identified the strong growth potential of the rechargeable vehicle sector. The first product developed was a Level 2 (240 V) charging station. Commercialization of the first generation of EVduty stations began in early 2014. Upon its introduction, the EVduty station became the most popular station in Quebec. Elmec also developed the EVduty3 fast charging station and double stations for commercial or institutional installations. Today, nearly 20,000 EVduty stations are in operation every day throughout Quebec and in several other Canadian provinces.

Products and positioning

Powerful, robust, reliable and intelligent charging stations designed for Nordic conditions, distinguished by durability and competitive price.

  • EVduty DUO

A robust pedestal for 2 EVduty 240V/30Amps or 240V/48Amps stations, offered for commercial or residential use (e.g., multi-dwelling). The pedestal is made of painted steel and supports one or two EVduty charging stations and one or two pistol receptacles with integrated cable support. It is fixed to the ground with 4 anchor points that become inaccessible when the back panel is installed (with anti-vandal screws). For the EVduty DUO pedestal, it is possible to put the stations in circuit sharing by installing the Smart-Pro smart station upgrade.

  • EVduty3

A fast charging station developed by Elmec.

  • J1772 pistol receptacle

A receptacle for J1772 pistol, for indoor and outdoor use, made of ABS plastic. It protects the pistol from weather and also allows hanging the cable. Since EVduty stations and their J1772 pistol are designed for indoor or outdoor use and are thus adapted to Canadian climatic conditions, the receptacle is not a mandatory accessory. However, it offers additional protection against weather, notably in winter where it prevents snow from accumulating and hardening in the pistol, making connection difficult. In summer, it protects against insects. The receptacle also allows easy storage of the pistol and keeps it accessible at all times.
