Overview

Fabrique d'images (also known as La Fabrique d'images, and internally as The Picture Factory) is a Luxembourgish animation production company founded in 2002 by graphic designers Christine Parisse and Jean-Marie Musique. Based in Differdange, in the south of Luxembourg, the company develops, finances and produces quality European content aimed at children and the whole family, spanning the small screen, the big screen and new digital media. Its stated purpose is to create programs that can travel across media, including animation, books and video games. The company operates its own in-house studio, The Picture Factory, with a team of more than 70 people whose expertise ranges from the most creative to the most technical, from 2D to 3D, from the initial idea to the final image, and from television and cinema to virtual reality. A distinguishing feature of the studio is that its directors and artistic directors work in-house and that it focuses on its own original programs. The studio covers a wide range of tasks, from design and storyboarding to animation, compositing and editing. Fabrique d'images has built a diverse catalogue of animated feature films and television series. Feature credits include Bonobo (2009), Ooops! Noah is Gone... (2015), The Light Eater (2015), Luis and the Aliens (2018), Bayala: A Magical Adventure (2019), Ooops! The Adventure Continues (2020) and My Fairy Troublemaker (2022). On the series side, the company has produced or co-produced titles such as Grenadine & Peppermint (2010), The Little Prince (seasons 1 and 2, 2010), Robin Hood: Mischief in Sherwood (2013), Polo (seasons 1 and 2, 2014), Bible, les récits fondateurs (2016), Ziggy and the Zoo Tram (season 1, 2016) and Henrietta (2020). More recent projects include Spiked (released 2025), Allah Is Not Obliged (released 2025), Stitch Head (released 2025), and titles in production such as Dudley, The Last Dinosaur and Arvil the Little Falcon. In 2013 the French publishing house Bayard & Milan acquired a stake in Fabrique d'images, giving the company the rights to adapt Bayard's comic characters for television, such as the children's series around Polo. In cooperation with Bayard Jeunesse Animation, Fabrique d'images also produces series, films and digital media. The company remains privately held and is led by its founders, with Jean-Marie Musique serving as CEO and producer and Christine Parisse as CEO and producer. Its leadership team also includes producer Mark Mertens, co-directors and heads of production and animation Yannick Czukor and Guillaume Vialaneix, and chief financial officer Geoffrey De Lazzer.

History

Fabrique d'images was launched in 2002 in Luxembourg by two graphic designers, Christine Parisse and Jean-Marie Musique. From the outset the company set out to develop, finance and produce quality European content for children and the whole family, for the small and the big screen as well as new digital media. The founders built the company around an in-house studio, known as The Picture Factory, which today employs more than 70 people whose expertise ranges from the most creative to the most technical, from 2D to 3D, from the initial idea to the final image, from TV screen over cinema to VR. A defining characteristic of the studio is that its directors and artistic directors are in-house and that it works on its own original programs. The company's production history spans both feature films and television series. Its early feature Bonobo was released in 2009, followed by a series of internationally distributed animated features: Ooops! Noah is Gone... (2015), The Light Eater (2015), Luis and the Aliens (2018), Bayala: A Magical Adventure (2019), Ooops! The Adventure Continues (2020) and My Fairy Troublemaker (2022). On television, the studio produced or co-produced Grenadine & Peppermint (2010), seasons 1 and 2 of The Little Prince (2010), Robin Hood: Mischief in Sherwood (2013), seasons 1 and 2 of Polo (2014), Bible, les récits fondateurs (2016), season 1 of Ziggy and the Zoo Tram (2016) and Henrietta (2020). A significant turning point came in 2013, when the French publishing house Bayard & Milan acquired a stake in the capital of Fabrique d'images. This investment gave the company the rights to adapt Bayard's comic characters for television, such as the children's series around Polo. In cooperation with Bayard Jeunesse Animation, Fabrique d'images also produces series, films and digital media. The company has continued to expand its slate into the 2020s, with Spiked, Allah Is Not Obliged and Stitch Head all released in 2025, and Dudley, The Last Dinosaur and Arvil the Little Falcon in production. The studio's stated ambition is that its worlds are created to travel from one medium to another, including animation, books and video games.
