Fagor Electrónica

Fagor Electrónica describes itself as a specialist in electronic and digitalization solutions, a diverse and flexible project built around customer needs and driven by innovation, with more than 50 years of experience. Its own account traces its origins to 1959, when the manufacture of selenium plates and rectifiers began under the name División Electrónica de Ulgor, S. Coop., and it was registered as an independent cooperative in 1966 as Fagor Electrotécnica.

According to Fagor Electrónica's own account, in 1959 the manufacture of selenium plates and rectifiers began under the name División Electrónica de Ulgor, S. Coop. In 1964 the first silicon rectifier manufacturing line was started, and in the same year the company's first in-house research laboratory was created. In 1966 Fagor Electrotécnica was registered as an independent cooperative and began activity in the building of the electronics division of Ulgor, S.C.I., where Fagor Automation is currently located. In 1967 the manufacture of UHF tuners and VHF selectors began, and the semiconductor activity eliminated license contracts for chip manufacturing. In 1969 the first meetings of what would later become the Consejo Social began, with Fagor Electrónica described as the precursor of the Consejos Sociales. In 1974 the Machine Tool Automation Division was created within Fagor Electrónica. In 1976 production of TV components and machine tool automation was moved from plant 1 to plant 2, the current headquarters of Fagor Electrónica. In 1977 the Low Frequency Circuits Department was created. In 1979 the first electronic programmer for domestic cookers and ovens and the thermostat for boilers were presented. In 1980 the Automation Division began independently, being constituted as Aurki, S. Coop., today Fagor Automation. In 1988 Fagor Electrónica created its first delegation in Asia in Hong Kong.
