Overview
Fast Accounting Co., Ltd. (ファーストアカウンティング株式会社) is a Japanese SaaS company headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, that develops and sells AI solutions specialized in accounting and finance operations. Founded in June 2016 by Keitaro Mori, the company targets large enterprises and accounting vendors with AI-OCR and automated journal-entry technology, marketed under its Robota product series and its Remota invoice-processing platform. It is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth Market. The company's core proposition is the automation of accounting document processing. Its AI reads invoices, receipts, and bankbook images, converts them into text, and automates data entry and journalization. Its matching functions compare field-entered data against invoice or receipt content to automate reconciliation, and it also automates expense-reimbursement matching between employee applications and AI-read receipts. The company positions itself around the concept of "accounting singularity" (経理シンギュラリティ), aiming to free accounting personnel from repetitive work. Fast Accounting was certified by the Digital Agency in August 2022 as a Peppol service provider for digital invoicing in Japan, and it has been developing services for sending and receiving e-invoices via a Peppol access point. It also researches generative AI and other advanced technologies, including LLMs, and applies the results to product development. Its customers include major Japanese corporations such as Kiss ei Pharmaceutical, Asahi Kasei, and Kuraray, which have reported reductions in manual data entry, lower error rates, and significant time savings in accounting approvals. The company is led by Representative Director and President Keitaro Mori, with a management team including CTO Akira Matsuda, CRO Naoyuki Nakazono, and CFO Akira Uemura. As of December 31, 2025, it had 74 employees (excluding officers and temporary staff). It moved its headquarters to Shibakoen, Minato-ku, Tokyo in May 2024. The company pursues a purpose of "removing constraints to give confidence and courage," with values including Can Do Attitude, Trust, Passion, Teamwork, and Move Fast.
History
Fast Accounting Co., Ltd. was established in June 2016 in Minato-ku, Tokyo, with the purpose of providing services that accelerate accounting processing using AI and IT. The founder, Keitaro Mori, had previously worked at SoftBank and participated in the launch of Akamai Technologies' Japanese subsidiary, where he served as sales headquarters manager and achieved the world's No. 1 sales performance in fiscal 2008. He founded Fast Accounting in June 2016, believing that AI could automate the data conversion of accounting documents and automatic journalization, thereby helping to solve labor shortages and allowing resources to be allocated to important tasks. In 2017, the company moved its headquarters twice: to Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo in March and to Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo in August. In 2018, it began offering AI modules: "Bankbook AI" (now Bankbook Robota) in January, "Receipt AI" (now Receipt Robota) in February, and "Journalization AI" (now Journalization Robota) in November. In June 2019, it moved its headquarters to Minato-ku, Tokyo. In July 2019, it launched "Invoice AI" (now Invoice Robota). In September 2019, it won the Fintech Award 2019. In October 2019, the service names were unified under "Robota." In September 2020, the company launched "Remota," an invoice processing platform designed to enable accounting operations even under remote work. In August 2022, it was certified by the Digital Agency as a Peppol service provider for sending and receiving digital invoices. In July 2023, it won the Mizuho Innovation Award 2023.1Q. On September 22, 2023, it listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth Market. In May 2024, it moved its headquarters to Shibakoen, Minato-ku, Tokyo. The company continues to research generative AI and other advanced technologies, including LLMs, and applies the results to service development. Its services are used by major corporations such as Kissei Pharmaceutical, Asahi Kasei, and Kuraray, which have reported benefits including reduced manual data entry, fewer human errors, cost reductions, and faster responses to electronic bookkeeping preservation laws and invoice systems.
