Feathered Friends

Feathered Friends is an outdoor brand founded in 1972 by Peter and Carol Hickner, who moved to the Pacific Northwest and began making the outdoor gear they wanted to use but could not find or afford. The company is handmade in Seattle, with two factory locations in the SoDo area near its retail store. It produces down sleeping bags, outerwear, and down bedding, using ethically sourced high-fill-power down, and emphasizes simple, lasting quality.

Feathered Friends was founded in 1972 by Peter and Carol Hickner, who moved to the Pacific Northwest and started making the outdoor gear they wanted to use but couldn't find or afford. They started in their basement with a secondhand Union Special industrial sewing machine. The company is now run by the second generation of the family. It has two factory locations in the SoDo area of Seattle, near its retail store. The name Feathered Friends was chosen as a whimsical homage to the high quality goose down they used.

Simple, lasting quality; handmade in Seattle; functional designs made from quality materials.
