Overview

Finitalia is an Italian consumer-credit finance company founded in 1972 under the name Finitalia-Finanziaria Italia Assicurazioni S.p.A., on the initiative of Italia Assicurazioni, which at the time was owned by the Montedison group. It is best known for financing insurance premiums, a niche in which it works in collaboration with UnipolSai, and it also offers personal loans and finalised (purpose-linked) credit through product lines such as Monetary and Cash Capital, as well as the My Cash Card, a card designed to let customers pay insurance premiums in instalments. The company describes itself as specialised in consumer credit (credito al consumo) and states that it belongs to a banking group with more than 150 years of history and values. Its ownership has changed several times over the decades: it joined the Fondiaria-SAI group in 2002 after Italia Assicurazioni was incorporated into Milano Assicurazioni; it incorporated the company My Fin in 2005; it entered the BancaSai banking group in 2006; it joined the Unipol group in 2014 following the integration of Unipol and Fondiaria-SAI; and in July 2019 it became part of the BPER Banca group. Finitalia operates in the Italian market and is associated with Assofin and ABI. It is registered in the Albo degli Intermediari Finanziari (register of financial intermediaries) and in the Registro degli Intermediari Assicurativi (register of insurance intermediaries). Its product range is oriented towards retail customers who want to spread the cost of insurance policies or finance personal projects, with the promise of real-time credit decisions reflected in its tagline "Il credito in tempo reale" (credit in real time).
