Fivetran is an American data integration company. Its platform is described as an automated data movement platform that securely moves, manages, and transforms data to power analytics, operations, and AI at scale, delivering trusted data from SaaS apps, databases, ERPs, and file connectors into warehouses or lakes and activating it into business applications. The company states it offers 900+ sources and destinations and provides capabilities including managed data lake service, SQL-based transformations, and security features such as encryption, customer managed keys, and hybrid deployment.

Fivetran was founded in 2012 out of Y Combinator, initially ideated as a data analysis tool for scientists; George Fraser and Taylor Brown, who met in 1988, completed Y Combinator in the spring of 2013 and began working on a full-stack solution. In 2014 Fivetran built its first connector in response to a customer's needs, moving data to their data analysis tool; word spread and the team received offers to purchase the connector, finding their true product-market fit. Also in 2014, Fivetran opened its global headquarters in Oakland. Between 2018 and 2021, the company raised several rounds of funding, including a Series A in 2018, and grew to a valuation of $5.6B. In 2021 Fivetran completed the strategic acquisitions of Teleport Data and HVR. In 2022 Fivetran reached 5,000+ customers, including Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders across sectors, and grew revenue by more than 50%.
