Fix Beer Hellas

Fix Beer Hellas (ΦΙΞ ΕΛΛΑΣ) is a Greek premium lager brand described on its official website as the Greek premium lager with the longest history and richest heritage, dating from 1864. The brand was founded by Ioannis Fix, who came from Munich and started brewing beer in Heraklion, Attica, naming it after his family. The official site states the brand has been internationally recognized with 38 gold medals and awards, and that its export activity began in early 2012.

According to the official website, when Greece was trying to rebuild after liberation from the Turks, Ioannis Fix came from Munich to find his father. Two gunshots in Magoufana (the area of Pefki today), from which father Fix fell dead, were the reason the son settled in Heraklion, Attica, and started beer production, motivated by the fact that several Bavarian officers had settled in Greece at that time. Ioannis Fix thus made the first beer in Greece, giving it his family name, FIX. The site describes the brand as the Greek premium lager with the longest history and richest heritage, from 1864, and states that the export activity of the multi-awarded Greek beer began in early 2012.
