In 1956, together with educators and architects, it created exemplary school furnishings aligned with modern school and teaching concepts. In 1969 the student workstation "Optimal" was introduced. In 1974 the modular profile system made of beech wood set standards in German homes. In 2008, with Konstantin Grcic, the company developed the new school chair collection PRO, focusing on active and dynamic sitting. In 2012 the PRO chair concept was presented at the Cologne furniture fair and Didacta, winning numerous design awards. In 2019 the focus shifted to flexible classrooms, creating sustainable, flexible furniture for future educational institutions. In 2022 Flötotto received ISO certifications DIN EN 9001 and 14001 for integrated quality and environmental management. In 2023 it increased focus on sustainability and expanded the use of recyclable materials.
