Flächenmanagement und Bodenordnung (fub) — subtitled Zeitschrift für Liegenschaftswesen, Planung und Vermessung — is a German-language technical and scientific journal devoted to land policy, land management and surveying. The journal now known as Flächenmanagement und Bodenordnung traces its lineage to the early twentieth century. Its earliest predecessor was Vermessungstechnische Rundschau (VR), subtitled Zeitschrift für das Vermessungswesen, which was published from 1924 to 1972, albeit with interruptions. That journal served the German surveying profession during a period of rapid technical and administrative change. In 1973 the title was relaunched as Vermessungswesen und Raumordnung (VR), which continued for nearly three decades until 2000. The change of name reflected a shift in emphasis from surveying technique toward spatial ordering and planning, as land policy and regional development became more prominent in German professional discourse. In 2000 the journal took its current name, Flächenmanagement und Bodenordnung, with the subtitle Zeitschrift für Liegenschaftswesen, Planung und Vermessung. The new title signalled an integrated approach that combines land management, land readjustment, planning and surveying. Since then it has appeared every two months, publishing technical and scientific articles as well as practice-oriented contributions.
