FFG Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft mbH (FFG) is a company with around 1,000 employees and a tradition spanning more than 150 years. Today it describes itself as an international high-tech company setting new standards with innovations in the defence technology sector, having established itself as a system house. It offers complete solutions from A to Z — from development and design through manufacturing, modernisation and on-site maintenance to worldwide delivery and around-the-clock after-sales service. Its strengths lie in the manufacture, conversion, optimisation, maintenance and repair of wheeled and tracked vehicles, as well as in the development and realisation of customised aluminium technology concepts. The company states that customers from over 40 countries have relied on vehicle technology 'Made in Flensburg' for many years.

The year 1872 marks the beginning. The newly founded Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft (FSG) had built sailing ships for only one year when the first steamer was laid down. The company grew, as did its willingness to invest in new, future-oriented areas, with particular attention always paid to mechanical engineering. When the Bundeswehr sought a partner for the repair of vehicles and equipment in the 1960s, the company convinced with its highly developed know-how and long experience. From the tracked vehicle division initially founded by FSG, FFG emerged in 1980, laying the foundation for independent development. Based on its extensive knowledge in repair, it first developed into a specialist for combat value upgrades and service life extensions. What began with the conversion of the German Marder infantry fighting vehicle in the 1980s found its provisional high point in the development of various M113 modernisation concepts. With comprehensive know-how and years of experience as an upgrade specialist, the step to becoming a vehicle manufacturer was the consistent continuation of the company's successful development. Today FFG is an international high-tech company that sets new standards with innovations in the defence technology sector. In addition to repair — which remains and always has been an essential pillar of its activities — the development, manufacture, conversion and optimisation of armoured tracked and wheeled vehicles are increasingly part of its work.
