    Flying Pigeon's bicycle business had long been loss-making, and its electric tricycle business went into bankruptcy reorganization and auction with no bidders. The brand turned to large-scale licensing and contract manufacturing, but quality control was lacking. White-label and counterfeit "Flying Pigeon" electric vehicles proliferated in the market, with problems such as nameplates not matching certificates and inability to register for plates. A 2026 China National Radio investigation found that some "Flying Pigeon" products were actually produced by discredited small and micro enterprises.
