Fondazione Ippolito e Stanislao Nievo

The Fondazione Ippolito e Stanislao Nievo was an Italian cultural foundation named after two literary figures of the Nievo family: Ippolito Nievo, the 19th-century writer, patriot and Garibaldino, and Stanislao Nievo, a 20th-century author. Based in Italy, the foundation promoted the study, preservation and dissemination of the Nievo literary and historical legacy through conferences, publications, exhibitions, podcasts and academic initiatives. Its website served as a hub for documents, a press review, multimedia materials, university theses and information on the two Nievos. The foundation organised or supported events such as the national conference 'Nacqui veneziano…: Ippolito Nievo, scrittore e patriota nel Risorgimento' in Fossalta di Portogruaro–Cortino di Fratta in October 2021, and participated in the University of Verona conference 'Ippolito Nievo tra i mille: il racconto di un'impresa' in December 2022. It also launched NievoCast, described as the first podcast on Ippolito Nievo, and promoted the presentation of the Stanislao Nievo Fund at the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Roma in October 2022. A notice on its homepage states that the foundation has ceased its activity, while the website remains open for scholars. The foundation's general secretary, Mariarosa, is mentioned in connection with the Verona conference. As a cultural institution, it operated in the non-profit and heritage sector rather than as a commercial enterprise, and its activities were centred on Italian literary culture and Risorgimento history.

The Fondazione Ippolito e Stanislao Nievo was established as an Italian cultural foundation dedicated to the literary and historical legacy of two members of the Nievo family: Ippolito Nievo (1831–1861), a writer, poet, journalist, translator, novelist and Garibaldino, and Stanislao Nievo (1928–2006), a 20th-century author. The foundation's website indicates that it operated as a centre for documentation, research and dissemination, offering sections on its mission, statute, organisational chart, scientific committee, video and photo archives, documents, press review and contacts. It maintained dedicated pages for the two Nievos, their publications, events, multimedia and university theses. Among its initiatives, the foundation promoted the NievoCast podcast, described as the first podcast on Ippolito Nievo, and supported academic conferences such as 'Nacqui veneziano…: Ippolito Nievo, scrittore e patriota nel Risorgimento' (Fossalta di Portogruaro–Cortino di Fratta, 9–10 October 2021) and 'Ippolito Nievo tra i mille: il racconto di un'impresa' (University of Verona, 14–16 December 2022). It also announced the presentation of the Stanislao Nievo Fund at the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Roma on 13 October 2022, and a conference 'Voci per Nievo' at the University of Padua on 20–22 March 2024. A notice on the homepage states that the foundation has ceased its activity, while the website remains open for scholars. The foundation's general secretary, Mariarosa, is mentioned in connection with the Verona conference. No founding year, founder, ownership or commercial details are provided in the available evidence.
