Overview

Foo Hang Jewellery Limited (富衡珠寶) is a Hong Kong diamond and jewellery house founded in 1944 by Mr. K C Lo. It describes itself as one of the first companies to import diamonds directly from Israel and South Africa, and today operates as a recognised Hong Kong wholesaler, retailer, manufacturer and exporter of fine diamonds and jewellery. The company is family-run, now led by second- and third-generation members of the Lo family, and is headquartered in a jewellery showroom at 7/F, 8 Russell Street in Causeway Bay. The business spans several activities. Its Causeway Bay showroom presents collections of bracelets and bangles, earrings, rings, necklaces and pendants, and men's jewellery, alongside bespoke jewellery design services. Foo Hang also supplies loose diamonds and exclusive finished jewellery to well-known local retailers, and exports through its manufacturing arm. Its stated mission is to offer the finest jewellery and gemstones at reasonable prices, supported by design, customer service and professional education for clients worldwide. Foo Hang is part of a family group that includes the retail shop Eternity Jewellery Limited (永生珠寶有限公司), the manufacturing and export business Eternity Manufacturing Ltd (永生製造廠有限公司), and the Jewel CAD jewellery design software that is widely used in the jewellery industry. The founder, K C Lo, was a pioneering figure in Hong Kong's diamond trade: in 1959 he helped establish the Diamond Importers Association, which in 2000 became the Hong Kong Diamond Bourse. He retired in 2014, and the company continues to participate in the Hong Kong Diamond Bourse and the Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association. Over more than eighty years the house has built a reputation for craftsmanship, trust and family values, serving clients across three and four generations. It marked its 60th anniversary in 2004, relocated its showroom to Causeway Bay's Russell Street in 2021, and continues to present itself as a heritage Hong Kong jeweller combining traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary retail experience.

History

Foo Hang Jewellery traces its origins to 1944, when the Lo brothers founded Foo Hang Jewellery (富衡珠寶行) in Hong Kong. The company describes itself as one of the first to import diamonds directly from Israel and South Africa, at a time when Hong Kong was transforming into a global trading hub. A parallel family business, Eternity Jewellery (永生珠寶), began its own journey in the 1940s and was formally named Eternity Jewellery and Diamond Limited in the 1960s. In 1959 the founder, Mr. K C Lo, played a pioneering role in the diamond trade by advocating for and helping to establish the Diamond Importers Association, which in 2000 developed into the Hong Kong Diamond Bourse. This institutional work helped shape Hong Kong's diamond industry and earned the founder and the company wide recognition. During the 1970s and 1980s the family expanded from trading into retail and manufacturing. Jewellery Flair Limited was established in 1979, Eternity was renamed Eternity Diamond and Jewellery in 1980, and in 1986 Eternity Manufacturing Ltd extended the family's reach into international markets, bringing Hong Kong craftsmanship to the world. In 2004 Foo Hang celebrated its 60th anniversary, a milestone reflecting long-standing relationships and a cross-generational reputation for excellence. The 2010s brought further renewal: Eternity moved to Pottinger Street in 2015, and in 2016 Foo Hang re-created its Central showroom, blending heritage with a contemporary retail experience. In the 2020s the company entered a new chapter, relocating to Russell Street in Causeway Bay in 2021 to embrace a vibrant and changing retail landscape. In 2024 Eternity marked its 80th anniversary in the industry with a refreshed retail presence. Mr. K C Lo retired in 2014, and Foo Hang Jewellery is now run by the second and third generations of the Lo family. The company remains active in the Hong Kong Diamond Bourse and the Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association; its Operations Director, Miss Cassandra Lo, serves as Vice President of the latter. Today Foo Hang operates as a wholesaler, retailer, manufacturer and exporter of fine diamonds and jewellery, with a showroom in Causeway Bay and a group that includes Eternity Jewellery Limited, Eternity Manufacturing Ltd and the Jewel CAD jewellery design software.
