Football 3

Football 3 (Ukrainian: Футбол 3) was a closed Ukrainian sports television channel that formed part of the Media Group Ukraine media conglomerate owned by Rinat Akhmetov. It was a football-focused pay-TV channel that broadcast world, European and Ukrainian championships and cups, national team matches, UEFA and FIFA tournaments, as well as its own in-house programming. The channel was available in the package of the Xtra TV pay-satellite operator, as well as in cable and IPTV operators' packages in SD and HD quality. Football 3 began broadcasting in January 2020 in test mode, and fully launched on 1 February 2020. It was the third channel in the Football 1/Football 2/Football 3 family, sharing top management and commentators with its sister channels. Its programming included Ukrainian Premier League, First League of Ukraine, Ukrainian Cup, Ukrainian Super Cup, 2022 World Cup qualification, UEFA Nations League, Copa Libertadores, Dutch Eredivisie, Turkish Süper Lig, Argentine Professional League, Coppa Italia, Italian Super Cup and Copa do Brasil, alongside original shows such as "Футбол NEWS", "УПЛ Online", "Перша Online", "Головна команда", "Fan Talk", "Моя гра" and "Ліга націй". Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, from 24 February to 8 May and from 12 to 21 July 2022 the channel broadcast the "Єдині новини" (United News) information marathon around the clock, initially with its own logo and from 28 February with the logo of its sister channel "Ukraine 24". From 9 May to 11 July it resumed independent broadcasting. On 11 July 2022, the ultimate owner of the media holding, Rinat Akhmetov, announced the termination of the operations of the TV channels and print media of Media Group Ukraine and the exit of the parent company SCM from the media business, citing the adoption of the law on de-oligarchization. All licenses held by the TV channels were to be transferred to state ownership. The media group later explained that only the licenses issued by the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting were transferred to the state, while the channels' assets would be sold off. The next day, 12 July, all TV channels of the media group ceased independent broadcasting and began transmitting the "Єдині новини" marathon. On 22 July 2022, the channel ceased broadcasting.
