Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology

The Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology (FAST) is a non-profit foundation established in 2016 with the mission of creating a favorable ecosystem for technological innovation and scientific advancement in Armenia and beyond its borders. FAST seeks to mobilize the scientific, technological and financial resources of Armenia, the Armenian diaspora and the international community. The foundation was co-founded by Ruben Vardanyan and Noubar Afeyan through the Initiatives for the Development of Armenia (IDeA) foundation, Father Mesrop Aramian through the Ayb and Luys foundations, and entrepreneur Arthur Alaverdyan. In April 2017, Armen Orujyan, founder and president of the Athgo Corporation, became the foundation's chief executive officer. FAST positions itself as a platform for bringing breakthrough scientific and technological achievements to Armenia by reviving the country's fundamental STEM traditions, fostering an environment conducive to innovation, developing education in science and technology, and forming an active venture capital ecosystem.
