History

Franz Bracht KG was founded in 1964 by entrepreneur Franz Bracht as a towing company in Lippstadt, Germany. In 1965, Bracht acquired his first mobile crane, and three years later added further cranes. By 1971, the company purchased its first 100-tonne cranes, followed two years later by a Gottwald 250-tonne crane. During the following years, the fleet expanded and additional locations were opened in North Rhine-Westphalia. The company also established foreign branches, including a branch in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, which operated from 1978 to 1988, and another in Kuwait. These branches also handled projects in other countries. In 1991, the founder's son joined the company and took over in 2004 after the founder's death.
