Futbol TV

Futbol TV is a nationwide, privately owned football television channel in Uzbekistan. It is part of the media portfolio of the UzReport Information Agency, one of the country's largest news agencies, alongside the general-interest channel Uzreport TV. The channel broadcasts in HD and is dedicated primarily to football, combining live match coverage with football-related programmes and shows. It is regarded as one of the most popular television channels in Uzbekistan. The channel began test broadcasting on 23 April 2017, when it aired the Spanish El Clásico in parallel with Uzreport TV, and moved to full-scale operations in May of the same year. During the test period it broadcast for twelve hours a day, from 14:00 to 03:00. Its editorial language is mainly Uzbek, but a significant part of the schedule is also in Russian, and the channel offers a commentary-language selection function during live matches, allowing viewers to choose the language of commentary with a button on their television remote. During the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, Futbol TV was among the first broadcasters in the post-Soviet space to make active use of this feature. Futbol TV's programming is built around acquired rights to major domestic and international football competitions. Together with Uzreport TV, it has held rights to UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League matches, the English Premier League, the Spanish La Liga, the Italian Serie A, the UEFA Nations League, UEFA Super Cup matches, and the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. The channel also carries draws for the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League. In August 2017, Uzreport TV and Futbol TV began broadcasting UEFA qualifying matches for the 2018 World Cup, and on 8 August 2017 they showed the 2017 UEFA Super Cup. For its Russian-language coverage, the channel has brought in well-known Russian commentators, including Aleksandr Yelagin and Denis Kazansky, who joined the Russian-language commentary staff of Futbol TV and Uzreport TV. Uzreport TV had previously invited Russian commentators to cover matches from various football leagues and championships for which it held rights. In August 2017, Futbol TV was recognised at the national media festival "Ozod yurt toʻlqinlari" (Waves of the Free Country) in the "Discovery of the Year" category, together with the channels Zoʻr TV, Milliy TV and Caravan TV. The UzReport agency also acquired rights to broadcast the draw ceremony for the 2018 World Cup. The channel continues to operate as a football-focused pay and broadcast brand within the UzReport media group, distributed via television and online live streaming through its website.

Futbol TV emerged in 2017 as a dedicated football channel within the media operations of the UzReport Information Agency, one of Uzbekistan's largest news agencies. During this test phase the channel operated twelve hours a day, from 14:00 to 03:00. Full-scale broadcasting started in May 2017. The channel broadcasts in HD and is owned by UzReport, the same agency behind Uzreport TV. During the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, Futbol TV was among the first broadcasters in the post-Soviet space to make active use of this feature. To strengthen its Russian-language output, the channel brought in well-known Russian commentators Aleksandr Yelagin and Denis Kazansky, who joined the Russian-language commentary staff of Futbol TV and Uzreport TV.
