Genesis Engineering Solutions

Genesis Engineering Solutions (often shortened to Genesis Engineering or GES) is an American aerospace and technology company headquartered in Lanham, Maryland, just outside the gates of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. The company was founded in 1993 by Robert Rashford, an engineer with more than three decades of experience, who wanted to build an organization that would create high-tech solutions by unleashing the talents and passions of a highly trained engineering team. Its name, "Genesis," is meant to evoke origins and beginnings: the company says it approaches every engineering challenge as an opportunity for a new solution, a new level of effectiveness, and a new breakthrough in technology. Genesis positions itself as a provider of space flight solutions "from concept to launch." Its stated mission is to make the client's mission a success, and it works both as a prime contractor and as a subcontractor supporting larger programs. The company emphasizes three elements in its work: technical proficiency, honest business conduct, and responsible management. Its vision is to be a premier aerospace and technology provider, sustained by a commitment to deliver the best product at the best price on the best schedule. Among the projects highlighted by the company is the Single Person Spacecraft, a compact crewed vehicle concept. Culturally, Genesis describes itself as a hands-on engineering firm — "We Don't Just Sit Behind Desks" — and stresses accountability and dependability as core values rather than slogans. It offers full-time employees a benefits package including medical, vision, dental, flexible spending, 401(k), disability, and life insurance, and states that it provides equal employment opportunities without discrimination. The company has operated for more than 30 years and remains privately held, with founder Robert Rashford still associated with the business.

Genesis Engineering Solutions was founded in 1993 by Robert Rashford, an engineer with more than 35 years of engineering experience. The company opened its doors in Lanham, Maryland, just outside the gates of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center — a location that placed it close to one of the major centers of American space science and engineering. From the beginning, Rashford's goal was to build a company that would create high-tech solutions by unleashing the talents and passions of a highly trained team of engineers. The name "Genesis" was chosen to speak of origins and beginnings. The company says it approaches every engineering challenge as an opportunity for a powerful new beginning — a new solution, a new level of effectiveness, a new breakthrough in technology. Rashford instilled in the team a commitment to work hard, do what is right, and always put the needs of clients first. Over the following decades, Genesis built a reputation for dependability, guided by values of accountability and dependability that the company describes as principles rather than slogans. It has worked both as a prime contractor and as a subcontractor, bringing what it describes as the same commitment to delivering the best product at the best price on the best schedule in either role. Its vision has been to be a premier aerospace and technology provider, sustained for more than 30 years. By the 2020s, Genesis was describing itself as a provider of space flight solutions from concept to launch, with a mission to make the client's mission a success. Its work has included the Single Person Spacecraft, a compact crewed vehicle concept highlighted on its website. The company remains privately held and continues to operate from Maryland, offering engineering services and aerospace technology development and emphasizing technical proficiency, honest business conduct, and responsible management.
