Overview

Gesuiti Educazione is a foundation that operates as a network of schools and educational institutions of the Euro-Mediterranean Province of the Society of Jesus. It was officially constituted on February 17, 2014, in Milan, as a participatory foundation to unite seven educational institutes across Italy and Albania, with the aim of promoting the Jesuit educational tradition.

History

The Fondazione Gesuiti Educazione was officially constituted on February 17, 2014, in Milan, at the San Fedele Cultural Center, as an operational tool to respond effectively to the educational challenge of contemporary society, according to the particular charism of the Society of Jesus. Seven educational institutes (in Turin, Milan, Rome, Naples, Palermo, Messina, and Scutari in Albania) were united for the first time in an innovative legal form (that of a participatory foundation) to relaunch the educational apostolate of the Society of Jesus in Italy and Albania. The foundation initially started as a network of the 7 schools of the then Italian Province of the Society of Jesus (6 in Italy and one in Albania), later expanding to include other educational entities and, with the birth of the Euro-Mediterranean Province, the great College of Malta.
