Gezhouba fined over Mulan pumped-storage project not built to standards, drawings
The Fujian Energy Regulatory Office determined that during construction of the Mulan Pumped-Storage Power Station, Gezhouba did not construct the upper reservoir main dam according to technical standards and did not construct the intake/outlet slope according to design drawings, and fined it 6,708,564.68 yuan. Status: administrative penalty. Entity involved: China Gezhouba Group Co., Ltd.

Gezhouba Huanjia struggles to recover over RMB 1 billion in prepayments; executives detained in corruption case
Gezhouba's renewable-resources business subsidiary Gezhouba Huanjia had more than 1 billion yuan in prepayments that could not be recovered; former chairman Chen Xi and general manager Wang Jinping were placed under detention for investigation in 2019, and manager Lü Weijie was sentenced to seven years for embezzling 5.8556 million yuan, exposing internal-control problems at the subsidiary. Gezhouba made large impairment provisions in its environmental-protection business.
