History

GiGO Taiwan Inc. was established on September 16, 2021, as GSE Taiwan Inc. (台灣聚思怡股份有限公司), a Taiwanese subsidiary of GENDA SEGA Entertainment (later renamed GENDA GiGO Entertainment). The establishment was announced on October 7, 2021, alongside the announcement that GSE Taiwan would take over the amusement facility operations from SEGA AMUSEMENTS TAIWAN LTD. effective December 1, 2021. On December 1, 2021, GSE Taiwan acquired the amusement facility business and three stores from SEGA AMUSEMENTS TAIWAN LTD.: PLUS SEGA Linkou Mitsui, SEGA WORLD Dayuan, and CLUB SEGA Tiger City. These became the first overseas stores for GENDA SEGA Entertainment. The three stores continued to use the SEGA brand initially. In December 2022, GENDA GiGO Entertainment announced the expansion of the GiGO brand to Taiwan, having obtained consent for trademark coexistence from the Taiwanese toy manufacturer Gigo (智高實業股份有限公司). The first GiGO-branded store in Taiwan, GiGO LaLaport Taichung, opened on January 17, 2023. By October 2023, the three former SEGA stores had been rebranded to GiGO. On November 16, 2023, the company changed its name to GiGO Taiwan Inc. (株式会社GiGO台湾). In 2024, GiGO Taiwan continued to expand, opening new locations such as GiGO MITSUI OUTLET PARK Linkou No. 2, GiGO 廣三SOGO, GiGO GlobalMall Nangang Station, and fanfancy+ with GiGO Garden City Taipei, as well as a Little Planet location at Mitsui Outlet Park Linkou. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of GENDA GiGO Entertainment Inc., which is part of the GENDA Group.
