Glampalm is a hair styling tool brand whose official US store lists straighteners, flat irons, volume irons, curling irons, dryers and accessories. Its official About page states that in the 1990s an engineer named Ok-Nam Cho developed a ceramic coating for flat irons, and that Glampalm is the natural evolution of that innovation. The brand states it is both the brand and the manufacturer, and that after focusing on the professional market for most of its existence it now aims to reach everyone.

According to Glampalm's official About page, one day in the 1990s a man named Ok-Nam Cho had a conversation with his wife's cosmetologist about flat irons, hearing complaints about dangerous heat, stickiness and burning hair. As an engineer, Mr. Cho became fixated on the problem and after months of tinkering came up with the ceramic coating, which regulates heat while being smooth on hair. The page states that Glampalm is the natural evolution of that initial innovation, and that the name is shorthand for 'Glamour in the Palm of your hand'. It adds that after focusing on the professional market for most of its existence, the brand now wants everyone to use its tools.
