History

The channel that would become Gold TV launched on 15 June 2003 as iTV, described as Poland's first interactive television station. Viewers could interact in real time through electronic communication tools such as the internet, telephone voting, SMS and MMS, and could actively shape live programmes by asking questions of presenters and guests, expressing opinions, or taking part in competitions. Through this contact the station learned about its audience's expectations, interests and needs, and adapted its live programming accordingly. In its first years it broadcast up to 18 hours of live programming per day, aimed at people with dynamic lifestyles. Its output included music, entertainment, talk shows, programmes about computer games and new technologies, quizzes, esoteric and erotic content. In August 2012 the station changed its profile and began broadcasting mainly music programmes, featuring dance, disco, pop and disco-polo, though only some of them retained active viewer participation. On 18 December 2012 it changed its broadcasting format to 16:9. On 27 February 2016 the channel was renamed TO!TV and its profile was expanded to include entertainment programmes. On 1 July 2019 the channel began broadcasting on the local multiplex MUX-L4 of digital terrestrial television in Wrocław. On 15 July 2020 the channel was renamed Gold TV. On 30 September 2020 it began broadcasting in HD quality, available on the Toya network. On 1 May 2022 Telestar SA ended its cooperation with MWE Networks, and Gold TV ceased broadcasting; the channel Nuta Gold was created in its place. Throughout its existence the station broadcast on the Hot Bird satellite, was unencrypted, and was available on all digital platforms and many cable networks. It was owned by Telestar Sp. z o.o.
