Goldbeck GmbH

GOLDBECK is a European construction company. According to its official website, it realizes around 500 projects annually with a total output of EUR 6.3 billion in the 2025/26 financial year, and employs more than 14,000 people. Its roots lie in steel construction, and it builds turnkey projects based on industrially manufactured system components. Its product range includes industrial and commercial halls, office buildings, car parks, residential buildings, school buildings, sports halls, fire station buildings and data centers, complemented by revitalization and construction-related services.

The company's roots lie in steel construction. On 1 September 1969, the young engineer Ortwin Goldbeck founded GOLDBECK KG Hallenbau und Stahlbau with seven employees and produced the first steel elements. In 1970 he brought in two managing directors to Ummeln: his childhood friend Hans-Heinrich Knufinke, and two years later his school friend and brother-in-law Dieter Pohlmann. While Ortwin Goldbeck focused on the core business of manufacturing steel elements and their technical innovations, Knufinke took over commercial management and Pohlmann sales. In 1973 the first GOLDBECK branch was established in Hannover-Langenhagen, a significant step toward a decentralized sales network. In 1974 a forward-looking administrative building with a steel structure and steel facade was inaugurated in Bielefeld; the so-called GOLDBECK-Haus served as the management headquarters until 2018. From the mid-1980s, in addition to classic halls, GOLDBECK also built office buildings and car parks using elements from its own production, forming the basis for growth and further corporate development; at that time the company employed around 200 people.

One of Europe's leading construction companies, a reliable partner for customers throughout Europe.
