Goodstart Early Learning Fined After Child's Death on Bus

    Fine or penalty

In 2021, a Queensland court fined Goodstart Early Learning $71,000 after a three-year-old boy died following being left in a minibus for more than six hours. Education Queensland had accused the provider of failing to provide adequate supervision and protection from harm, and of failing to keep accurate attendance records. The court imposed the fine in response to these accusations. The event concerned the death of the child on the bus and the regulatory findings against the early learning provider.
