Australia’s largest childcare provider has been fined $71,000 by a Queensland court after the death of a three-year-old boy who was left in a minibus for more than six hours last year.
Goodstart Early Learning was fined on Wednesday in the Cairns Magistrates Court after Education Queensland accused it of failing to provide children with adequate supervision and protection from harm, and failing to keep accurate attendance records.
The company pleaded guilty in Cairns Magistrates Court on Wednesday over the death of Maliq "Meeky" Nicholas Floyd Namok-Malamoo, 3, in February last year.
