GRG Services Group is a German building services company headquartered in Berlin, operating nationwide under the umbrella of GRG Services Berlin GmbH & Co. KG. Founded on 20 February 1920 by Walter Schwarz as Walter Schwarz Glasreinigung, the company has grown into a third-generation family business with more than a century of tradition. Its core business is professional building cleaning, complemented by hygiene services, facility management, logistics, reception and security-related services, and industry-specific solutions for hotels, healthcare, culture and leisure, industry and construction. The group serves a broad range of clients, including offices and administration, hospitals and medical practices, senior homes and rehabilitation clinics, hotels, cultural and leisure venues, and industrial facilities. Its service portfolio includes maintenance cleaning, glass and facade cleaning, basic cleaning, mat services, graffiti removal and prevention, winter services, green and grey area maintenance, as well as specialized hygiene cleaning such as station cleaning, operating room cleaning, disinfection, central sterilization, formaldehyde fumigation, cleanroom and laboratory cleaning, and cleaning according to GMP and HACCP standards. GRG emphasizes quality, transparency and innovation. According to its website, the company employs over 3,400 people and generated 104 million euros in 2024. It uses technologies such as cobotics and IoT to improve quality while conserving resources. The group is certified according to the EMAS environmental standard and OHSAS 18001 occupational health and safety management, and has received numerous awards, including FOCUS TOP Arbeitgeber in 2018 and Leading Employer in 2020 and 2021. Ownership remains with the Schwarz family. As of January 2024, Stephan Schwarz and Heiko Schwarz each hold 45%, and Ira Schwarz holds 10%. The company is led by managing partner Heiko Schwarz and managing director Christian Heikenfeld. GRG is a member of Berlin Partner für Wirtschaft und Technologie, Gesundheitsstadt Berlin, and the Verein Berliner Kaufleute und Industrieller, and is a signatory of the Charta der Vielfalt.

GRG Services Group traces its origins to 20 February 1920, when Walter Schwarz founded Walter Schwarz Glasreinigung in Berlin. The company's first customer was the department store Hermann Tietz (later Hertie). In 1930, the business was renamed "GRG – Großberliner ReinigungsGesellschaft" and converted into a GmbH. In 1970, the founder's son Hans-Jochen Schwarz took over the management of the family business. In 1971, the first branch outside Berlin, GRG Hamburg, was established. Following the German reunification, a branch was opened in Potsdam in 1990. After the death of Hans-Jochen Schwarz in January 1996, the founder's grandson Stephan Schwarz took over the management. In 2000, another grandson, Heiko Schwarz, took over the management of GRG Hamburg. In 2004, branches were opened in Munich and Passau. In 2011, an office in Wolfsburg established a presence in Lower Saxony, followed by Hanover in 2013. In 2014, GRG expanded its service area in Saxony with an office in Dresden, and in 2016, a location in Düsseldorf followed. The company is certified according to the EMAS environmental standard and OHSAS 18001 occupational health and safety management. In 2018, GRG was awarded FOCUS TOP Arbeitgeber as the best employer in building cleaning in Germany. In both 2020 and 2021, GRG was recognized as "Leading Employer". On 20 February 2020, GRG celebrated its 100th anniversary. For the jubilee, numerous videos were produced under the motto "GRG-Geschichten", showing personal portraits of employees. On 21 December 2021, Stephan Schwarz resigned from his position as managing director in preparation for his new role as Senator for Economics, Energy and Businesses in Berlin. He remained in office from 21 December 2021 until 27 April 2023. As of 31 December 2021, the group structure included GRG Services Berlin GmbH & Co. KG, GRG Services Hamburg GmbH & Co. KG, SNW Schneebeseitigung Nord Winterdienst GmbH, GRG Services Verwaltung Hamburg GmbH, GRG Services Hotel GmbH, GRG Services Verwaltung Berlin GmbH, GRG Services Gebäudemanagement GmbH, and GRG Services München GmbH. As of January 2024, the shareholders were Stephan Schwarz (45%), Heiko Schwarz (45%), and Ira Schwarz (10%). The company is currently led by managing partner Heiko Schwarz and managing director Christian Heikenfeld.
