History
The history of Groupe Chopard began in 1958 with a family garage in Morteau, Doubs, in Franche-Comté. In 1995, Erik Chopard Lallier created the holding ECL and founded Groupe Chopard by taking over the family Peugeot concession in Dole after the retirement of Mr. Cyprien Chopard Lallier. Between 1996 and 2001, the group acquired Citroën Dole, Peugeot Salins-les-Bains, and Peugeot Besançon, and established its headquarters in Besançon. From 2003 to 2006, it acquired Peugeot Pontarlier, Chaumont, and Langres, and expanded into the South-East of France with Peugeot Gap, Digne, and Manosque. Between 2007 and 2008, it strengthened its presence in the East and South-East by acquiring Peugeot Dijon, Gray, Carpentras, Orange, Montélimar, and Aubenas. From 2009 to 2012, it created Iperia, a spare parts platform in Fauverney, and acquired Peugeot Beaune and Kia Besançon, distributing three brands. It also established a marketing structure at its headquarters. Between 2013 and 2015, it acquired Citroën Troyes, Peugeot Vesoul, and Citroën Beaune, and aimed to be present in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
